The Oasis

So, one month has passed since The Oasis started and I have to say I am completely happy with the direction that it is going. We have met a few times now and our “nucleus” is healthy and the vision is taking more shape as we go. We are still praying about who else should be in at the ground level and what our first community outreach effort will be at this point. I will be reaching out to people in the next few days to see who is interested in being a part of what God wants to do in and through this ministry. We have been meeting and having prayer and worship together and God is speaking about what he wants for us and from us to serve the people of our city and the surrounding communities. As I am writing this I am reminded of all those times that I struggled to figure out why I never felt like I was doing enough or I never felt like God could use me. And now I see clearly what God wants me to do and the concern is more on how to execute the plans that He is giving me and less on how I can be used in those plans. I am still struggling with confidence when I lead worship but God is working on that with me and I am growing. I have to admit that I am starting to enjoy leading and each time I gain confidence and new songs are starting to flow. Well, I have gone on long enough. I hope to do more regular updates and keep people in the loop much more frequently. If you are one of our prayer warriors you can be praying for some of these things:
Equipment: (someone has already donated some single effects pedals and an ADA MP1!)
Some kind of small PA (Mics, cables, monitors etc.)
Electric Guitar
Power Amp
Multi Effects Pedal
Facility:
We would like to have a regular meeting place and ultimately own a building (Message me if you want to hear more about this)
Intercessors:
We need the backing of our prayer warriors! Without prayer and Holy Spirit WE will fail every time.
Musicians:
We need some. Right now we have some singers, a drummer, and me. We are looking for all kinds and would love to have multiple teams at some point, so if this is you, message me!
Wisdom:
Perseverance:
Whatever Holy Spirit Gives you to pray for us:

Spring/Summer 2012

Hey guys!  Well, it's been a long time again!  We have staffed 2 DTS' watched both groups go overseas and then graduate from Discipleship Training and head out into the world with a new perspective hopefully of themselves, God, and the world around them!  Dan and I have graduated from a leadership course in which we were blessed to be students with leaders from Ukraine and Russia!  What a wonderful time!  We have been blessed to pray over the valley, do a variety of street evangelism, and help those in need in a variety of ways here in Montana and in Oregon!  We have sent groups to Thailand, Burma, India, Africa, Argentina, and that's only a few of the countries from this past year!!!  God is definitely on the move!  We have a group of students preparing for outreach to Taiwan and Uganda in a couple of weeks.  On base we are preparing for summer schools:  Service, Music, Dance and our 2nd Endurance DTS!  We will be hosting quite a few short term teams from Vacation With a Purpose (VWAP) who will be here helping with repairs on base for the summer.  Dan the kids and I are planning a two week vacation to Iowa in a few weeks!  Have a blessed summer!

Fall DTS

Sorry, it's been awhile since we've posted!  We are keeping busy preparing for students who will begin arriving in a week!!!  We have 53 students so far!  We are so excited!  Lots of planning and cleaning, even some minor remodel jobs on the dorms!  The whole base is hopping!  Not only does our school, DTS have 53 students but there will be a School of Biblical Studies running at the same time with another 53 students, and I think school of worship has 8 students!  We all have high expectations of what God will do in and through the students, staff, and base as a whole!

Staff Intake

Staff intake has begun here at YWAM MT!  We are so excited for the month of August!  During Intake we are learning the basics of community living here on the base and about the history of God's work here on base!  WE have staff and students in the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica whom will be returning in a couple of weeks!  We look forward to seeing them all and hearing what God has been doing in these places!  We also have 45 YWAM leaders whom will be on base for a week from various other YWAM bases.  We feel blessed to be able to host them!  Dan and I will begin working with about 10 other staff members on the 22nd to begin praying over the fall school direction and students.  We are so excited to start staffing our first school right away!  We will keep you posted as we know more!  God Bless

WE ARE HERE!

We made it back to Montana on Tuesday the 19th of July!  Since returning we are trying to get settled in and seeing everyone!  Mom and Kenny stayed with us until the 25th which was nice.  We will begin our staff intake on Monday and look forward to it.  There has been some mention of us possibly helping staff the fall school in September already!  We are just so excited to see where God leads us and will keep you posted!

Come See Us

This Sunday, July 17th at 12:30 we will be at the Vine (old Greenbriar) on corner of Pennsylvania and Jefferson.  We will have pictures from our trip and would love to sit and chat with you about what God has been doing in and through our family and the passion He has placed in us for Gillette Missions!  If you are in Ottumwa and available we would love to see you!
